The NBCS story

It started with a few people who missed the game.

NBCS began as a simple gathering of adults who still loved soccer but could not find a regular place or group to play with. Work, family schedules, and years away from the field made it difficult to find the time and other people who shared the same interest.

What started as a small pickup group grew into a welcoming community of players from across the Augusta area. Different languages and cultures now meet on the same field. People who may have passed one another at a store, lived in the same neighborhood, or had children attending the same school began meeting for the first time and building real friendships. NBCS became more than weekly soccer. It became NileBridge's mission in action.

Mohamed Elhassan is a husband, father, public servant, and longtime Columbia County resident who has called the community home since 2017.

His own experience building a life and raising a family in Columbia County shaped a simple belief: people are more likely to thrive when they feel connected to their neighbors, welcomed in their community, and able to participate in the place they call home.

As an American citizen and public servant, Mohamed sees community service as both a responsibility and an opportunity to give back to the community that has become home to his family.

That belief led to the creation of NileBridge Foundation, built around a practical approach to service: listen to the community, identify real needs, and create programs that bring people together and make everyday life better.

Through community wellness, soccer, education, and social connection, NileBridge creates opportunities for people from different cultures and backgrounds to meet, build relationships, stay active, learn, and become more connected to their community. Its programs also help adults and seniors overcome barriers involving language, technology, isolation, and access to practical learning opportunities.

For Mohamed, NileBridge is ultimately about bringing people together—longtime residents and newcomers, different cultures and generations, and neighbors who may otherwise never have had a reason to meet.

His goal is to build practical, welcoming programs that strengthen those connections and help make Columbia County an even stronger place to call home.

His journey has taken him through the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, and the FIFA World Cup 2026™, where he gained firsthand experience in organization, coordination, logistics, volunteer leadership, and the day-to-day operations that help major football events come together.

That experience matters here at home.

At NBCS, Ibrahim brings the lessons of international football into a community program built right here in Columbia County. He helps us grow with purpose, stay organized, support our captains, strengthen our programs, and build meaningful connections across the local soccer community.

His background is further strengthened by professional education and credentials through FIFA, the FIFA/CIES Programme, and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), along with studies in sports management, business, and safeguarding.

For Ibrahim, the goal is not simply to help run a soccer program. It is to help build something lasting—a program that is well organized, welcoming, connected to its community, and capable of growing the right way.

As Operations Manager, he brings global experience to a local mission, helping NBCS take what started on a community field and build it into something our players, families, and neighbors can be proud of.

How we play

RSVP every week

Mark attending or declining in Spond by Saturday.

Play with respect

Recreational soccer means community first and competition second.

Listen to the whistle

Play stops immediately. Repeated arguing means a 10-minute break.

Arrive ready

Be at the field 10 minutes early so teams can start on time.

Supporting the program

Where your support goes.

NBCS is free to participate in. Columbia County makes Fields 3 and 4 available for our weekly sessions at Blanchard Woods Park. Optional member donations help cover operating needs and improve the experience as attendance grows.

Program insurance

Help cover general liability insurance for organized sessions, providing financial protection if a covered injury, accident, or property damage claim occurs during program activities.

Competitions and tournaments

Create organized internal competitions that keep the experience fun and engaging.

Trophies and player awards

Provide prizes and recognition, including a Best Player award.

04

Water and field supplies

Provide water, a large cooler, and essential supplies for weekly sessions.

Every contribution goes directly back into the program. Members can give any amount, either once or monthly, only if and when it works for them.
